The story behind the name….

There is something special when I see a butterfly flying around, I can almost hear her say “Look at me” as she dances in the air to show off her beautiful new image.  She is joyful and fully understands what it is like to feel alone as she begin to change.  Yet, as she left in the dark she holds on the hope in the midst of her most darkest days.

I have always wondered, do butterflies dream?

Was there something deep down in her heart that told her she would become something beautiful if she would wait and allow transformation to happen?  Did she dream that one day she would soar with the birds and sprinkle the sky with beautiful colors? As darkness covered her body and it slowly morphs into something different, was she afraid, did the pain numb her physical body or did faith save her?

I believe we all can relate when we finally except Jesus in our hearts.  When the transformation of our new image starts to take place, our hearts will too.  Often times I felt alone and forgotten?  During the cocoon phase that’s when the battle really started.  I was fighting battles no one knew about, but for whatever reason I kept pushing through, just like the butterfly, if she keeps pushing, she’ll be strong enough to break free to the very thing that is growing her.

In today’s world everyone wants to be someone.

The truth is, we are nothing without Jesus.  Pretending to be joyful on the outside, but on the inside, we are screaming with our face against the pillow and crying silently in the shower. Thinking that it will all go away.  Sadness is revealed by our eyes and our aching soul. If anyone can understand what it is like to be called stupid and ugly most of their life, I most certainly can. But understanding who you are becoming is one of the greatest gifts in the world. You my friend are a Child of God.  A warrior against the darkness. The princess whose father is still on the Throne.

I have learned that everything I have ever wanted was on the other side of my insecurities waiting on me to break through to the very thing that was holding me back. Jesus did not just come here to die on the cross, He came here to make us dangerous to the kingdom of darkness.  He came to show us how to fight!  I promise God has not forgotten about you.  We all have dreams of being something special because we are someone special! No matter what the world has told you, if you allow God to transform you, He can turn your mess into someone’s medicine.

My sweet friend when trouble comes and change takes place, I pray you understand that you are not alone. Each minute that passes will only transform you into something far more beautiful than you can possibly imagine.  I encourage you to love, bless them with your gifts and talents, spread your wings and explore the beautiful world that God has given you.  Discover something new hidden within yourself, you have what it takes. You are enough!  Take flight as you navigate through the choppy winds of life. Dare to dance like a butterfly and be joyful on purpose. Find hope in the darkness and never lose sight of who you truly are.
